US Postal -> Discovery Channel for Lance

The USPS got some flack for sponsoring the US Postal Cycling team. Then they got a new postmaster general, and decided to let their sponsorship expire. Now the Discovery channel is taking over the sponsorship. But the Discovery channel says they won't be covering cycling races. :(

The Discovery channel doesn't normally televise sports. Even if they wanted to, I suspect that OLN has a contract for exclusive broadcast rights in the US.

OLN had pretty good coverage. I still remember one of the commentators saying that Lance was at the "zeitgeist" of his powers in the mountains. :) Here's the big question though, is Cheryl Crow going to be Armstrong's Elin Nordgren?

I hadn't even heard about Lance and Sheryl. You're just much more up to date with your celebrity gossip than I am, Qian.

I was disappointed that he and Kristin separated. Before that, I thought he was as good a sports superstar role model as they come. Of course, he's still an amazing athlete and person. But whenever I read a story and they mention his latest girlfriend, it brings back my a bit of sadness.

Indeed, it is kind of sad. But it's also somewhat inevitable. The guy's training in the mountains year-round, so when's he ever going to see his wife? She probably sees him more often on OLN and TV ads than in person. I'm not really that up on celebrity gossip per se. It's more that I get this stuff when I read sports news. You know, the "human interest" crapola.

I get the OLN (outdoor life network) and the international channel 2 that shows mostly sports. Both of those show a bunch of cycling (although you have to speak languages other than English to understand the commentary on the international channel)

So I don't know if it's because of this post but all the banner ads I seem to be seeing on this site are about cycling and cycling memorabilia... (and actually most of it is supposedly for the USPS cycling team... so has the Discovery channel thing not happened yet?)

And both ads I got were for the Discovery Chanel / Store or something. Clearly google is trying to serve up ads based on the content of the pages.
