print what you've got

It looks like book four is on its way to the publisher. Note the caveat. I know at least one person who reads the series by character, so this would be all the same to her. However, I'm going to be sad if Bran doesn't make it into this one. Of course, if he does, I'll miss him in book five. Oh well.

Would you care to include a bit of introductory/background information for those of us who are unfamiliar with this series and this author?

Huh... I thought this was one of the series that was traded around clam floor in the backwhen...

It's a fantasy series with many characters, each with their own agenda, &c. One of the interesting things about the series is that each chapter is told from the point of view of a different character, thereby sometimes giving you multiple points of view of the same event.

The books are big and were getting progressively bigger. The last book had to be split into two volumes in many countries. I guess he's doing the splitting for us this time.

He had been coming out with a new volume every two years. However, the last one came out in 2000. Hence the excitement that this one is finally done.

Oh, and the series is worth reading, if you've got a lot of time to spare.
