World Cup
Any predictions on how far the U.S. will go? I think we should be able to get back to the quarter finals at least. And how much will the rest of the world hate us if we win it all and it's still a sport less popular here than bass fishing.

You'd think that American TV could promote the World Cup, and get a significant audience, just by explaining to the American people how incredibly ticked off other nations would be to lose to the US. Depending on which side of the Iraq question you fall on, you can root for the US to off the UK or France. If you're upset about immigration, you can root for the US to be Mexico. Plenty of animus to go around.
Well... it seems the US team is not off to a good start! Did anyone watch the game?
I caught a few minutes of the first half, right before they gave up the second goal. I turned it off at that point.
So, any predictions for World Cup 2010? :)
