Yea! go Hubble! kick some space craft butt!
huh... prolly a bad sign that my first thought was "born again Hubble"?
Yes, but at what cost? What is NASA killing/underfunding to save Hubble, and what are the scientific trade-offs in doing so?
Hubble has great PR value for NASA and astronomy apart from its scientific value, though. Nothing makes the tax-paying public feel better about spending on science than some killer pictures that can be used as desktop backgrounds.
