A $2 bill can land you in jail
From a diary at Daily Kos: a man was arrested for trying to spend $2 bills. Quoth a police spokesman: "It's a sign that we're all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world." Thanks for ruining our currency, Osama!

Absolutely amazing.
On the plus side, I have a story of people showing some common sense in the post-9/11 world. While in an airport, I was paged. While walking to the requested location, I was looking through my wallet to see if I still had all my credit cards, drivers license, planet ticket. Only when I was about 10 feet from my suitcase did I realize what I was missing. (The airline made me "gate-check" the small bag.) Fortunately, they didn't blow it up. The security person asked a few questions, checked my id over the radio, told me there would be a fine if it happened again and let me go. I offered to let him inspect it or go through security, but he just suggested that I look through it myself. Now I'm curious if I'll get harrassed next time I fly.
Another question... Do they maintain a database of people who have left their bag unattented for 15 minutes, so they know who to warn and whot to fine?
